Simplify never edits your part. It saves a clean copy, like “part 2_clean”, next to the original. Organize renames features in the part you have open, only the ones still called things like Cut‑Extrude2, and you check every name first. In Inventor one Ctrl+Z puts them all back; SOLIDWORKS can’t undo a rename.
It switches each feature off, one at a time, and measures the part: volume, surface area and centre of mass. If nothing moves, that feature was doing nothing. It’s a measurement, not a guess.
Yes, with FixtureAI names (All Access). Write your naming rule once, for example “Say what the feature is, then its main size”, and Organize follows it on every part. Free quick names use a fixed style, like “60x40 Cut”. Either way, every name is a suggestion you can type over or skip.
From McMaster-Carr and GrabCAD. Search for what you need, pick one, and it downloads the 3D model and places it in your open assembly, or opens it as a part.

Click Free download and pick your CAD. Close your CAD, unzip, run the installer, then open any part: the panel appears inside your CAD. Sign in once in the panel and you’re set.
